Green Skills Week 2021 - Be Part of a Smart Future - Energy Industry Insight Day

Available Between

It`s an exciting time for the energy sector. We need hundreds of thousands of people to fill future job roles, some of which don`t exist yet. These roles and the people in them will help transform the UK`s energy system to meet the government target of zero UK emissions by 2050. The East of England is a leader in energy transmission as we have a unique mix of energy sources such as offshore wind, oil and gas and nuclear. Over half of the UK`s installed offshore wind capacity comes from the wind farms off the coast of Norfolk and Suffolk and over 30% of the UK`s gas is distributed from the Bacton gas terminal in Norfolk.

The East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) is a membership organisation working with different companies within the energy sector to promote the East Anglian region and encourage investment from the government into the industry locally. We work with businesses to develop their networks, promote their services and help them grow.

Part of what we do is to work with employers, education and training providers, individuals interested in a career within energy and students and young people to promote our sector as a primary career choice and ensure we have an ongoing pipeline of talented individuals for the current and future wellbeing of our industry.
