Libraries are at the heart of our communities, providing spaces for education, learning and support alongside preserving vital knowledge developed and documented through generations.

During this Virtual Work Experience week, we will show you how crucial architecture is to the world around us, helping you to channel your creative skills and utilise your imagination to design your own public library that will have a positive impact on its users for years to come.

Through a series of design workshops, we will take you through the process of designing a long lasting and impactful building, from the first glimmer of an idea to a final design that encompasses everything a library might need.

This opportunity will draw on your creativity, developing your teamwork skills through collaboration with your fellow students to bring your ideas to life, with the opportunity to present your final design at the end of the week.

The placement will also include:

  • Design workshops throughout the week to help refine and develop your ideas
  • An overview of the architecture industry to give you an insight into what a career as an architect might look like
  • Daily skills sessions to help you to develop your CV and portfolio
  • Q+A sessions with the team to allow you to get to know the people that work at the practice, and their own career experiences

We are an architecture practice based in London, currently working on a wide range of arts, cultural, heritage and commercial projects, both in the UK and internationally. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to design, and are delighted to be able to share this approach with students through this placement.

No prior experience is required and we welcome all applications from students across the country with an interest in design and architecture.

We look forward to hearing from you!
