NOTE: THIS OPPORTUNITY HAS A FOCUS TO ENGAGE CORNISH STUDENTS PRIMARILY. IF WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH CORNISH STUDENTS SIGN UP THEN PLACES WILL BE FILLED WITH STUDENTS FROM THE REST OF THE COUNTRY.
The local space sector in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
is growing quickly. There are numerous opportunities within the area from both
upstream (launch, rockets and space systems) and downstream (satellite
applications, communications) innovations.
You have recently heard about a pot of funding available to
young people that is asking for students to identify new business opportunities
in the space sector.
You have been tasked to write a bid for a new space business
that will take advantage of some of the latest innovations or adapt and improve
current business that are already in operation.
This challenge will be split down into four key zones:
Research, Business Idea, Marketing and Finance, you will be required to present
your ideas in any format you deem appropriate, this could include a video,
presentation, written report, product design or any other innovative way that
you think will be best. The judging of the entries will consider how well each
has been presented.
You will be split into random teams of 5 or 6 and each have a role to play in the formation of the idea and presentation back to Spaceport staff.
