Apprenticeships Seminar- Delivered by Dragados

A two-hour Apprenticeship seminar covering apprenticeships in great detail and specifically apprenticeships in Construction. We will also cover the different career paths that can be taken to enter the industry, and the different levels you can look into. There will be guest speakers from Engineers, managers and apprentices to walk you through their career journey. We will also touch on CV and Interview skills and tips.


According to the Office of National Statistics 19% of the workforce are due to retire in the next 5-10 years. With this in mind and in light of the aforementioned it is vital that we address the outdated image of the industry among young people, their teachers and parents. The Dragados apprenticeship seminar will endeavour to support relevant initiatives to raise awareness and diversify the industry.


§ To inspire young people to take up apprenticeships

§ Dispelling the myth that apprenticeships are for those who are not academically inclined

§ Inspire young people to choose a career in construction, transport and infrastructure

§ To build attendees confidence in writing a CV and attending an interview

§ To show young people how to find the best apprenticeship for them

§ To demonstrate that a career in these sectors is not gender specific

§ To show the vast number of roles available

§ To cover three Gatsby benchmarks.

Sessions are for students who are 16 plus. The session will run from 10am until 12.
