Who are we and what are we doing below the city of London?

The Skanska Costain STRABAG (SCS Railways JV) work in partnership with HS2

HS2 are a state-of-the-art, high-speed line, critical for the UK’s low carbon transport future. It will provide much-needed rail capacity across the country and is integral to rail projects in the North and Midlands – helping rebalance the UK economy.

SCS Railways JV are tunneling through the ground from Euston to West Ruislip a pathway for future contractors to build a new, faster, more efficient railway track and service for the local community.

Twenty-one miles of our route of works will be tunnels. To tunnel this route, we use what’s called Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) In total we will require 7 TBMs, all digging continuously for 3.5 years and at least 50m underground, so you won`t even know we are there!

In addition to the tunnelling work, our project will also consist of bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks plus much more!

Join us on this incredible journey of discovery.

How is a tunnel designed and constructed? What about the Environment? What careers and pathways are available in infrastructure?

If you are interested in construction, engineering, the environment or Social Sustainability, sign up to this event to attend 5 interactive days there we will offer you the opportunity to jump on board and fast track your experience to understand more about Europe`s largest infrastructure project in 100 years!
