Programme Participation Agreement
Thanks for being a part of the charity’s work to help give state school students a leg-up for their futures through work experience. The Speakers for Schools Experience programme is a free online platform and programme specifically set up to help open up access to work experience and related placements with the UK’s leading employers for state schools and their students that would otherwise not have access to these esteemed opportunities. As an advertising portal and free programme, all participants must agree to a basic set of terms to help us ensure the quality, safety and continued free access to our content and placements.
Please confirm you agree to the following participation requirements:
- Ensure that activities on the platform follow the objectives to help create more high-quality placements that aid social mobility and improved industry access young people regardless of background.
- Have policies in place that follow the requirements of the Data Protection Act and agree to treat all information and student details obtained through Experience as confidential.
- Have an Equal Opportunities Policy in place to ensure the fair assessment and selection of applications.
- Are willing to provide feedback on each placement and share best practice insights intermittently as a part of our Employer group.
- Ensure proper checks are made to meet insurance (Employer Liability), safeguarding and consent requirements of schools and/or external bodies. We have helpful guidance and a Toolkit to help during your process, but employers need to ensure the appropriate processes for their business and liaise with schools to ensure their processes are satisfied. (i.e. Most placements do not require DBS checks for staff, for further guidance please visit our resources page.) Schools also have to ensure proper safeguarding, parental consent and/or risk assessment requirements. Please see our FAQs and Guidance sections for more about facilitating your placements.
- Are willing to provide a logo to be used for promotion on the public website. This is to simply encourage schools and other leading employers to engage with the service. Speakers for Schools make it clear that logos on the main site do not indicate current vacancies.
