Closed: VWEX with a social enterprise set-up to empower young people to engage with politics
I have a voice
I have a voice is a social enterprise that has been set-up
to empower young people to engage with politics by enhancing their knowledge of
the political system. During the week you will produce a plan for a political campaign on an issue that matters to you and present an interactive session on your issue to your peers.
Over the course of a week you`ll be asked to:
Research social issues and
what`s going on in Parliament to create blogs, newsletter content and
prepare social media posts using a range of online tools. Conduct market research and
learn how to create a stakeholder list (i.e. who do you need to engage
with to make your idea a success). Act as advisors about what
issues matter to young people and their current level of engagement with
politics. Gain insight into how to
run a campaign on an issue that matters to you.
The only requirement is that you care about the world around
you and want to learn more about how you can use your voice to create change. You`ll be a team player, creative, curious, open-minded and respect the
views of others even when they differ to your own.
Many of the students who have done work experience with us before are still campaigning. One group has even met with a Minister!
