GTR’s Work Experience Taster Day
Work Experience is a great opportunity to spend some time
outside the classroom and learn about the world of work. Work experience can
help you decide on your options for after year 11 and beyond.
On Wed Feb 17th, we will be “opening our doors”
for you to get a chance to see what it is like to work at GTR (Govia Thameslink
Railway). We are the largest train operating company in the UK with more
passengers, more people and more trains than anyone else in the country and you
can come and spend a few hours with us online getting to know the business.
Trains are obviously the back-bone of our business and there
are a lot of elements to getting them moving and keeping them running on time.
Our taster day will give you an opportunity to gain an insight into our one-week
work-experience programme taking place in the summer.
We have several different
departments across the business, this includes Customer Service, Engineering,
Head Office and learning more about the ROC (Rail Operations Control Centre).
The session will start at 11am and end at 2pm.
