PLEASE NOTE: Students in the areas of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Coventry and Warwickshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire will be given priority.

Fusion are a joint venture of three major construction companies, currently working with HS2 on their enabling works.

This work experience opportunity will enable you to understand more about working in the construction industry, and open your eyes to a number of different career paths you may not have known even existed, these include archaeology, ecology, engineering and planning. Through spending time with different departments and functions, you will learn about how they each play a part in completing the project, and over the course of week prepare your own project, which you will present to us at the end of the week.

There will be opportunities to speak to apprentices, and people at all stages in their career, and find out more about their journey to the role that they are in.

Departments you will speak with include: engineering, digital engineering, health and safety, procurement, archaeology, ecology, planning and project management.

  • Students who have not previously had work experience and do not have access to other opportunities (such as via parents) are especially encouraged to apply.
  • We cannot guarantee which department you will be in so please ensure you would be interested to get a one week taster of a top organisation in any of the departments listed.

  • Students will need to be able to access the virtual placement online, every day for the entirety of the placement.
