Behind the News: how the UK`s largest publisher tells stories and the people that make it happen
Reach plc is the largest national and regional news publisher in the UK, home to iconic digital sites, magazines and newspapers. From the Mirror, WalesOnline, RSVP and OK!, to our regional titles such as GlasgowLive, the Liverpool Echo, BirminghamLive and the Manchester Evening News, our brands have a long heritage of being trusted sources of the latest news, sport and entertainment. We are passionate about diversifying our workplace - which includes recruiting voices from backgrounds that previously may not have been heard.
It is more important than ever to ensure that our team reflects society and our readers - to do this we want to light sparks in young people who might want to consider a career with us and support them to do so. This is why we’re opening our doors to give young people experience and insight into what it’s like to work at Reach.
This is a 45-minute introduction, led by our industry experts, to the vast range of careers available within the world of media and news publishing.
You’ll hear from our editors, journalists, photographers and social media experts in a panel discussion on how our titles covered the Olympics. Our commercial and advertising team will then take you through how we work with some of the biggest brands in the UK to tell their stories.
This session is open to students aged 14+ and there are no restrictions on whether students have considered a career in the media or not. We would welcome whole classes to join this event.
The online virtual session will be delivered on Wednesday 29th September from 2-2:45pm
